This week Jo, Morwenna and Alison have been in London for the first What Works Global Summit an exciting five days of workshops, presentations, meetings and networking.
Between us we attended sessions on evidence gap maps, raising media awareness, getting evidence into practice, reducing the prison populations in the US, pearl harvesting, engaging with decision makers, accountability for evidence in policy making, making systematic reviews ‘fit for purpose’ and many more.
We also sampled a wide variety of cuisines including Moroccan, Indian, Greek and Italian, great coffee and cocktails.
Cocktails unlocking knowledge A little bit of everything does you good...
The diversity of attendees with interest and experience in the environment, education, child health, social welfare, policing, prisons, nursing and international development, from across the globe and involved in producing, using and brokering evidence gave rise to some fascinating and stimulating conversations. A truly unique gathering.
