On June 29, 208, the GESI Secretariat participated in the 10th Croatian Cochrane Symposium: Building Capacity for Cochrane Systematic Review Production and Dissemination. The GESI Secretariat held 2 presentations: 1) Self-evaluation of training capactiy: In this session, Dr. Lotfi explored described framework for capacity building in systematic reviews, and shared experiences in capacity building from the Clinical Research Institute at the American University of Beirut. Evidence Synthesis and Impact Evaluation

On February 15th, 2018, the American University of Beirut was a host for a seminar titled "Evidence Synthesis and Impact Evaluation", which was presented by Dr. Jeremy Grimshaw. Dr. Grimshaw discussed Evidence Synthesis, the role of The Centre for Systematic Reviews on Health Policy and Systems Research (SPARK) and co in Low-and-Middle Income Countries (LMICs), GESI, and an introduction to Impact Evaluation.  The seminar was streamed to the GESI Network.

On February 12 and 13, 2018, the American University of Beirut was the venue for the “Systematic Reviews and Evidence and Gap Maps in Social Sciences” Workshop hosted by the Global Evidence Synthesis Initiative (GESI), in collaboration with the Center for Systematic Reviews on Health Policy and Systems Research (SPARK), and Campbell Collaboration.
